Job Description
Your mission is to bridge the gap between the disruptive thin film lithium niobate (TFLN) photonic chip technology and the future of 6G. You will transform our TFLN chips into high-performance prototypes that will eventually redefine the next-gen wireless communication modules.
Objectives
- System Development: Design and layout of TFLN circuits and develop peripheral electrical circuits and control software, including (RF-compatible) packaging for product integration.
- Performance Evaluation: Characterize the electrical and optical properties of TFLN photonic devices and evaluate the measurement data
- Automation: Develop automated optical/RF test beds for batch characterization
- Customer engagement: Supporting customer relations, demos and visits; demos and composing technical documentations
Requirements
Essentials
- Master's or PhD degree in photonics, applied physics, electrical engineering, or related fields
- 2-4+ years deep, hands-on experiences in designing and characterizing photonic chips
- Proficiency with high-tier optical/RF instrumentation, including OSAs, ESAs, VNAs, and real-time oscilloscopes
- Advanced Python skills to automate complex measurements and analyze measurement data
- Familiarity with photonic circuit layout software such as KLayout, GDSfactory, OptoDesigner
- A product-oriented, proactive, collaborative and pro-active mindset with excellent communication skills
Desirable skills
- Experience with TFLN photonics and/or experience in high-speed modulator characterizations is a big plus
- Experience in optical/RF simulation software such as COMSOL, Lumerical, HFSS
- Basic know-how of photonic nanofabrication processes is desirable
- Prior experience leading photonic chip tape-outs
